This role will appeal to an experienced and proactive administrator who thrives on keeping people, projects, and priorities running smoothly. As the PA/Team Administrator within our Science System Investment and Performance (SSIP) branch, you'll become a trusted partner to leaders and teams, providing high quality support that enables important work to happen efficiently and effectively.


We're looking for someone who combines strong organisational skills with sound judgement, initiative, and attention to detail. You'll be confident managing competing priorities, anticipating what needs to happen next, and finding practical ways to improve processes and workflows. This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same, offering the opportunity to make a genuine impact while building strong relationships across the branch.


Beyond the day-to-day administration, you'll play an important role in helping the team stay connected, organised, and focused on delivering outcomes that support New Zealand's science and innovation system. Skills and Experience Required

•  Proven experience supporting multiple managers and teams in a PA or administrative role
•  Proven ability to manage complex workflows, priorities, and deadlines in a fast paced environment
•  Well developed relationship management and communication skills
•  High attention to detail and confidence working across digital systems and documentation
•  A proactive, solutions focused approach and sound judgement
•  Experience in the public sector is beneficial but not required
