Reporting to the Capability Lead Business Analysis, this specialist role aims to deliver solutions for MBIE.


We seek a Senior Business Analyst capable of handling larger, complex projects with diverse customer needs and high-profile subjects. As a Senior Business Analyst, you:

 

  • Leverage your strengths to complete any project type.
  • Simplify ambiguous information and focus on what is important.
  • Collaborate effectively with excellent people and facilitation skills.
  • Contribute to strategic thinking.
  • Develop specialties like data analytics, facilitation, visual storytelling, or cybersecurity.
  • You could be leading a small team of Business Analysts, planning and monitoring project activities accurately.
  • Play a significant role in coaching and supporting other BAs, sharing knowledge within the practice.
  • These are key roles in our delivery success.

We are keen to hear from you if you have: 
 

  • 5+ years' experience as a Business Analyst - Not so hung up on Job titles but a breadth and depth of experience as outlined in the Job Description - which can take time to accrue.
  • Experience in facilitating requirements workshops and defining user stories. 
  • Experienced in working with vendors at all stages of a project lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated experience in translating business and customer needs into technology solutions, and in needs analysis, process mapping, product ownership analysis and value stream mapping. 
  • A curious mind and a desire to learn about technical and business innovations and how they may be applied to the MBIE environment. 
  • An analytical and conceptual thinking mind that can make connections between various aspects of the organisation and can contribute to a cohesive approach across all aspects of a technology-enabled business. 
  • The ability to quickly establish and build strong working relationships and develop trust, credibility, buy-in and collaboration with managers, staff, vendors and other stakeholders. 

 

Additional  Experience sought:

  • Experience with D365 and Power BI projects, product, delivery.

 

Pre-requisites 

  •  A relevant tertiary or professional qualification, or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience. 
  •  You must have at least a New Zealand Permanent Resident class visa due to the security requirements of this role.
