Tēnei tūranga - About the Role:

 

 

We’re looking for multiple Senior Advisors to join our Resource Markets branch on a fixed-term or secondment basis. You’ll be part of a team driving meaningful change across regulatory systems, translating policy and legislation into practical tools that help our delivery teams work effectively.

 

This role is about making policy real. You’ll lead the design and delivery of operating models, procedures, forms, and guidance that support our regulatory systems. You’ll be the connector between policy teams, operational teams, and system participants - ensuring change is delivered smoothly and meaningfully.

 

We’re after people with strong analytical skills, a collaborative mindset, and a clear understanding of how operational policy links to real-world outcomes. If you enjoy connecting the dots between legislation, operations, and people - this role is for you.

 

Some recent examples of our work include:

 

  • Implementing the Offshore Renewable Energy regime
  • Delivering changes to the Crown Minerals Act
  • Supporting the Fast-track consenting process

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

 

  • Experience in Operational Policy, service design or a regulatory role.
  • Experience working on technical, political and/or legally complex projects.
  • Ability to integrate the ‘big picture’ (strategic and/or long term) with day-to-day operational processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to integrate and balance statutory and specialist technical information.
