Tēnei tūranga - About the Role:
The Our Future Services programme is transforming the immigration system by bringing visa applications and processing into a single digital platform, supported by smart risk management, modern tools and redesigned end-to-end processes that deliver a better experience for kaimahi and customers. The programme is delivered through multiple workstreams operating in parallel, each implementing key initiatives with defined milestones.
You will be part of the Future Services Branch within Immigration New Zealand, reporting to the Programme Director, Future Services.
As a Senior Advisor – Benefits Realisation, you will provide high‑quality operational and strategic advice to support the successful delivery of the programme, with a particular focus on ensuring programme benefits are clearly defined, measured, monitored and understood across the programme team and delivery workstreams.
Working closely with the Programme Director, Principal Advisor, workstream leads and colleagues across MBIE, you will:
- Support the development, refinement and ongoing management of the programme’s Benefits Realisation Plan.
- Work with key stakeholders across the programme and organisation to identify, define and track benefits in a consistent and meaningful way.
- Use quantitative and qualitative data to produce analysis and insights reporting that enables effective governance and decision making.
- Support programme governance and assurance processes, including reporting to programme boards and forums.
- Proactively identify and escalate risks that may impact benefit delivery and realisation.
This role requires strong analytical capability, confidence working with senior stakeholders, and the ability to navigate complexity and uncertainty while keeping delivery outcomes and benefits front of mind.

Skills and Experience Required
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Strong experience providing high‑quality advice in a programme, operational or policy environment.
- Demonstrated experience with benefits realisation, performance reporting or programme monitoring frameworks.
- Confidence using quantitative and qualitative data to prepare analysis, reports and recommendations, including insights to inform decision-making.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop clear, high‑quality documents, such as reports, memos and presentations.
- Proven ability to quickly understand complex and unfamiliar issues and provide sound advice on risks, issues and pathways forward.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work proactively and independently, including prioritising across competing demands and tight timeframes.
- Well‑developed relationship management and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and organisational boundaries.
- A sound understanding of the public sector environment, including governance, assurance and decision‑making processes.
- You must be a New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident.
