We have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced regulatory specialist to join the team. 


The Building System Delivery & Assurance team is responsible for a range of building regulatory functions involving regulatory compliance, monitoring and assurance, and service delivery.  These functions include contributing to customer education, maintenance of assurance schemes, contributing sound judgment and technical knowledge and informing decisions on product investigations, warnings and bans. 


Reporting to the Manager Compliance and Assurance, you will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise input into the delivery of an online earthquake-prone building register, as well as monitoring, reviewing and reporting on the performance of territorial authorities, building consent authorities and regional councils. 


We are looking for someone who has an existing knowledge of the earthquake-prone building system, legislation and the related online register. 

 

What You’ll Do:

 

  • Work on compliance initiatives that enhance regulatory oversight across the building system
  • Collect, analyse, and interpret regulatory data to identify and report on trends and risks
  • Investigate complaints that relate to the performance of building control functions  
  • Implement assurance frameworks that support robust regulatory decision-making

  • Proven experience in regulatory compliance
  • Strong data collection, analysis, and reporting skills to support evidence and risk-based regulation
  • A strategic thinker who can navigate complex regulatory environments
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
