Tēnei tūranga - About the Role:

 

Kānoa – RD & Commercial Services is responsible for administering the coalition Government’s $1.2 billion Regional Infrastructure Fund (RIF). The RIF invests specifically in regional infrastructure, making investments in projects that boost regional growth, resilience, and productivity. The Regional Infrastructure Fund (RIF) opened for applications on July 1, 2024. It aligns with the Government’s five pillars to rebuild the economy, including building infrastructure for growth and resilience.


Kānoa – RD & Commercial Services is seeking an experienced Project Manager for a six-month fixed term to assist in the delivery of regional investments made through the RIF. The Project Manager will work closely and collaboratively with teams to develop, implement and drive strong project management and reporting practices to help successfully deliver large Regional Infrastructure Fund projects. This role will lead project level reporting across a suite of projects and assist with keeping projects on track and progressing to timeframes.

Skills and Experience Required
 

  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships and partnerships across Kānoa – Regional Development & Commercial Services and other teams at MBIE.
  • Strong project management experience 
  • Well-developed skills in presenting project information to relevant stakeholders, including through reporting, papers, minutes and actions 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling projects, including risk management.
  • Critical thinking to support identifying problems and implementing solutions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively to support business process improvement opportunities. 
  • Exercise good judgment to manage and escalate potentially sensitive issues.
