Tēnei tūranga - About the Role:

 

The Future Services branch is responsible for leading the delivery of a Future Services programme for the Immigration System - a large, multi-year programme to transform INZ’s service model to deliver better outcomes for New Zealanders, including through planned migration of well-designed visa products to the ADEPT system and corresponding decommissioning of legacy systems for the submission and processing of visa applications. The Future Services programme will incorporate work on how INZ assesses risk to determine appropriate service levels and verification requirements for different customers, and future workforce capability requirements, with a focus on supporting quality decision making. 


The Programme Director Future Services role is a specialist position in the Future Services branch and will be responsible for ensuring the programme is strategically aligned, well-integrated, robustly tested, and successfully delivered. This includes ensuring the right work is underway and is integrated and coherent, managing internal and external stakeholders, ensuring performance of the Programme is visible, and regular monitoring information is provided for oversight.

  • Extensive public sector leadership with deep knowledge of policy, regulatory, financial, and government decision-making processes.
  • Proven programme and project delivery across large-scale initiatives, investment cases, and operating model design.
  • Strategic and analytical thinker with strong risk management, benefits realisation, and evaluation expertise.
  • Effective communicator and influencer with strong relationship-building skills across senior leadership levels.
  • Independent and agile operator with a track record of delivering high-quality outcomes under pressure.
  • Must be a NZ citizen or hold a permanent residence class visa.
