Kānoa's Strategy and Policy team is seeking a Policy Advisor on a fixed-term basis through to June 2027

. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your policy capability, work on a varied programme of work, and contribute to advice that supports regional growth and investment outcomes.

About the Role - Tēnei tūranga:

As a Policy Advisor, you'll gather evidence, analyse policy issues, develop policy options and prepare high-quality policy advice. You'll contribute to policy projects and work programmes while building effective relationships across government and with stakeholders.

In this role you will be working with an established policy team with a busy work programme, working closely with colleagues in the regions and investment teams in Kānoa.

The team is responsible for supporting the delivery of Kānoa managed funds, leading regional economic development policy development and stewardship, and operational policy to support Kānoa and Crown Regional Holdings Limited.

• Researching, analysing and synthesising information from a variety of sources.
• Developing policy options and contributing to policy advice.
• Supporting the delivery of policy projects and work programmes.
• Building effective relationships with stakeholders across government.
• Preparing briefings, reports and written advice.
• Contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

Skills and Experience Required

• Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• A relevant tertiary qualification.
• The ability to work through ambiguity and develop practical solutions.

• The ability to build positive working relationships and collaborate effectively with others.
