An exciting opportunity for a Personal Assistant/Team Administrator to join our new Insights Unit

  • Seeking a highly organised, proactive and motivated administrative professional with appetite to extend into programme coordination support such as providing timely and accurate reporting for the unit 
  • Permanent position based in Wellington
  • Salary $60,727 - $70,625 p.a.

 

 

About the Team:

 

The new Insights Unit comprises two teams in Workplace Relations and Safety Policy branch, this role reports to the Head of Insights and two Managers. We apply a range of analytical skills and methodologies to provide high quality evidence and insights across the MBIE policy portfolios for Government, MBIE, and a range of external stakeholders. This role will give you exposure to interesting work content that significantly contributes to the wellbeing of Aotearoa.

Our Insights Work Programme covers a wide spectrum of MBIE policy portfolios, such as: migration, employment & skills, building system, economic development, science & energy. We support and influence the policy debate and provide direct advice to Government and information to stakeholders and the public.


You may be a seasoned PA looking for your next challenge or somebody looking for experience working in a large agency and the opportunities for development that provides. Regardless of your background, the key thing we’re looking for is somebody who is organised, enthusiastic, a self-starter, can juggle multiple tasks at the same time and is looking for some stretch by providing some programme coordination for the Unit. Being a new Unit we are in set-up stage and need support such as work programme reporting and coordination across the unit to support resource allocation. We will support you to build your skills and succeed in this role.

  • Experience in being a PA and Team Administrator or the ability to demonstrate transferable skills to this role
  • Competent user of Outlook, Microsoft office and other business systems (finance, HR)
  • Skilled in using/applying processes with judgement and common sense 
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills
  • A customer-centric approach, with the ability to quickly establish and build strong working relationships and to develop trust and credibility within the unit and with our customers and stakeholders
  • A proactive, can-do attitude with a high level of initiative
