About the Role - Tēnei tūranga:
As Executive Assistant, you will provide high-level, confidential support to the Deputy Secretary, Labour, Science and Enterprise. This pivotal role supports the success of the LSE group, liaising with both internal and external stakeholders to support the Deputy Secretary. You will be a proactive self-starter who builds trusted relationships, anticipates needs and stays organised as priorities shift. Sound judgement, discretion and a calm, solutions-focused approach will help you thrive in this fast-paced environment.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Providing high-level, proactive executive support to the Deputy Secretary
- Managing a complex calendar and inbox, and coordinating meetings with internal and external stakeholders
- Working closely with the Head of Office, LSE leadership team and Deputy Secretary EA colleagues
- Coordinating travel and other administrative requirements
- Supporting and guiding administration professionals across LSE
Skills and Experience Required = Ngā pukenga me ngā wheako e hiahiatia ana
- Proven success in a senior executive support role within a large, complex organisation
- Exceptional relationship management skills and the confidence to work with senior leaders, Ministers’ offices and diverse stakeholders
- Sound knowledge of administrative systems and processes, with excellent organisation and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to build trust and credibility at executive level while handling sensitive information with discretion
- Strong communication, influence and interpersonal skills
- The ability to anticipate needs, exercise sound judgement and reprioritise quickly
- A collaborative, customer-focused approach and a willingness to support colleagues
- An understanding of MBIE and how LSE contributes to the Ministry’s outcomes
- The resilience and adaptability to succeed in a flexible, complex and dynamic environment
