Are you an organised, proactive Executive Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced environment?  Do you enjoy supporting senior leaders and being part of a collaborative, high-performing team?


 
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Executive Assistant to provide executive level support to the General Manager, Economic Growth.  As the Executive Assistant, you will also be a key member of our wider team helping support a strong team-based Branch culture.


 
Day to day responsibilities will be varied and will include: 

  • Calendar and email management, co-ordinating meetings with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Tracking work in real time and working alongside the management team to ensure delivery.
  • Administrative support including travel, organising branch events, financial management
  • Mentoring and guiding other Team Administrators in the wider team.

 

A strong client focus is important as well as an interest in building an understanding of the wider team, its priorities, and the key stakeholders with which it interacts. You will maintain effective internal and external relationships, deal with high level, urgent and confidential issues and work effectively with the teams as needed.

  • A proven track record of experience and achievement in a senior executive support role
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Sound judgement with a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Strong degree of attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to develop trust and credibility at the executive level.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and discretion.
  • Ability to work effectively and to contribute positively in a team environment and to prioritise to achieve MBIE outcomes.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge and understanding of working within a government agency.
  • Willingness to work in a flexible and dynamic environment.
  • Must have legal right to live and work in NZ.

The Economic Growth branch is responsible for providing advice and support to the Government on its economic growth priority. It plays a lead and coordination role across both MBIE and external government agencies in driving work programmes that contribute to economic growth. The branch also shapes and strengthens economic growth through collaboration and partnership to lift economic performance, so that New Zealanders thrive.
