We are looking for a dedicated and experienced M365 Product Owner to join our team and drive the success of our Microsoft 365 (M365) and Teams initiatives. 

 

Role Overview: As an M365 Product Owner within our Digital Operations team, you will be responsible for driving the strategic direction and successful deployment of M365 services across the enterprise. Focused on maximising the value of M365 and Teams products, you will identify areas for product development and be responsible for creating and prioritising product pipelines based on overall strategy and business objectives. You will map out product dependencies to inform the necessary sequence of changes in line with the release dates of products. 

 

  • Product Strategy and Management: Develop and maintain the product roadmap for M365 and Teams services, ensuring alignment with MBIE's strategic objectives. 
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure that M365 and Teams solutions are tailored to meet those needs. 
  • Adoption and Usage Metrics: Monitor and analyse adoption rates and usage patterns to identify areas for improvement and drive user engagement. 
  • Budget Management: Work with the finance team to manage the budget for M365 and teams initiatives, ensuring financial feasibility and securing necessary funding. 
  • Technical Oversight: Liaise with enterprise and domain architects to translate business requirements into technical solutions. 
  • Vendor Management: Coordinate with vendors to ensure the delivery of high-quality technical support and services. 
  • User Training and Support: Develop and deliver training materials and sessions to help users fully utilise M365 tools and applications. 
  • Backlog Management: Manage and prioritise the product backlog, translating product strategies into actionable tasks for development. 
  • Market and Customer Needs: Stay informed about market trends and customer needs to ensure the M365 services remain relevant and valuable.

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role managing M365 and Teams within a medium to large organisation, preferably within government agencies. 
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 services, including Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange, and related security and governance frameworks. 
  • Experience in defining and executing product roadmaps, governance policies, and adoption strategies. 
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions. 
  • A key influencer who drives organisational alignment and ensures efficient execution of initiatives. 
  • Knowledge of IT service management (ITSM), change management, and Agile methodologies. 
  • In-depth knowledge of technical product ownership. 
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Experience working with external vendors and service providers, particularly Microsoft partners. 
  • Certifications in the relevant technologies will be advantageous
