Overview

The Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) is a Crown agent established under the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act 2000. EECA’s mandate is to encourage, promote, and support energy efficiency, energy conservation, and the use of renewable energy sources in New Zealand.

Skills and experience required

The Minister of Energy is seeking an outstanding governance leader to serve as Chair of the EECA Board. The Chair will provide strategic leadership and effective governance, ensuring the Board delivers on its mandate and supports EECA’s continued delivery.

 

Specific Skills and Experience Required

  • Proven governance and leadership experience, including as a chairperson.
  • Knowledge of public sector accountability and regulatory environments in New Zealand.
  • Exceptional relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience working with Ministers and senior public sector officials.
  • Strategic thinker with strong communication and influencing skills.
  • A track record of working collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams to reach consensus.
