Tēnei tūranga - About the Role:
Reporting to the Manager Commercial and Contracts, you’ll play a key role in supporting contract administration across the Digital Services and Operations (DSO) Branch. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, is highly organised, and takes pride in delivering accurate and efficient support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain and manage contract and commercial data in MBIE systems.
• Analyse supplier arrangements and ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Collaborate with ICT teams to uphold contractual obligations.
• Identify and log commercial risks; maintain a risk register.
• Manage the team’s ADO Board and improve internal processes.
• Generate reports proactively and on request.
• Build strong working relationships across MBIE.

We’re looking for someone who:
• Has proven experience in administrative and customer service roles.
• Demonstrates initiative, sound judgement, and attention to detail.
• Communicates effectively across all levels of an organisation.
• Understands secretarial and administrative practices.
• Can adapt to changing priorities and work autonomously.
• Has knowledge of government operations (preferred but not essential).
Qualifications
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience in financial administration and supporting managers is a plus.
• Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
• Must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand.

You’ll be part of the Commercial and Contracts Management Team, within the Asset and Supplier Management Team, under the Digital Services and Operations (DSO) Branch. Led by General Manager Mark Brown, DSO ensures the operational integrity of MBIE’s digital systems.
