About the Role - Tēnei tūranga:

 

Occupational Regulation supports complaints, licensing and registration functions across a range of occupational schemes, including Electrical Workers, Licensed Building Practitioners, Immigration Advisers, Motor Vehicle Traders, Auctioneers and Pool Inspectors.

 

We are looking for a Case Officer to provide high-quality case management, administrative and secretarial support to Occupational Regulation’s complaints and Board support functions.

 

In this varied role, you will support independent statutory Boards, investigators and internal stakeholders by preparing matters for Board consideration, coordinating meetings and hearings, managing documentation, preparing agendas and papers, recording accurate minutes, and supporting decisions and correspondence.

 

About you: 

 

You will be a highly organised, proactive administrator or case management professional with strong judgement, discretion and attention to detail. You will be confident working with deadlines, sensitive information and a wide range of stakeholders, including Board members, senior leaders, legal advisers, complainants and respondents.


Experience supporting Boards, committees, panels, hearings or other formal decision-making forums is highly desirable. You will understand the importance of confidentiality, accuracy, natural justice, customer service and timely follow-through. Some travel may be required.

Skills and Experience Required
 

  • Experience supporting Boards, committees, panels, hearings or senior decision-making groups is highly desirable.
  • Strong relationship management skills and confidence working with Board members, senior leaders, legal advisers and external parties.
  • Experience preparing agendas and papers, coordinating meetings or hearings, recording minutes and tracking actions.
  • Ability to manage correspondence, shared inboxes, case files, records and time-sensitive documentation accurately.
  • Excellent organisation, attention to detail and ability to prioritise competing deadlines.
  • Sound judgement, discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and constructive working style.
  • Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat Pro and case management or document management systems.
  • Must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
