About the Role - Tēnei tūranga:
We are looking for an experienced HR generalist to join our team supporting Te Whakatairanga Service Delivery (TWSD). You’ll thrive on variety, pace, and solving real people challenges and love coaching leaders, building capability, and providing grounded, practical advice that helps teams get on with their mahi.
If you get energy from being “in it” - supporting leaders, navigating complex situations, and keeping work moving - you’ll enjoy being part of our team. This role sits at the heart of our day-to-day P&C delivery, working closely with leaders and teams to support great people outcomes across MBIE.

- Solid HR generalist expertise across key HR disciplines
- Confidence working with ER matters
- Strong relationship building and communication skills
- Sound judgement and the ability to make good calls in real time
- A coaching mindset and a genuine interest in helping leaders grow
- Problem solving ability and the resilience to juggle competing demands
- A collaborative, team first attitude
- Experience in change processes and an understanding of organisational dynamics
- Must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand
