Tēnei tūranga - About the Role:

 

We are seeking an Advisor for a two‑month fixed‑term opportunity through to the end of June.

In this role, you will support the treaty commitment team branch to deliver on our treaty settlements and commitment and understand their responsibilities. You’ll contribute to the development of clear guidance, information and advice that supports compliance, and work collaboratively across the branch and wider MBIE.

You will also play a key role in supporting our people in the engagement with Māori stakeholders as part of policy development and delivery. This includes coordinating and tracking engagement activities, supporting relationships with iwi, hapū and Māori organisations, contributing to agreed commitments, and assisting leaders and teams to build practical, effective partnerships that support strong regulatory outcomes.

This opportunity is well suited to someone who enjoys working across teams, and supporting meaningful stakeholder engagement.

Skills and Experience Required
 

For the role of Advisor Treaty Commitments, ideally you will have the following qualities:

  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new subject matter or areas of work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across a range of formats and audiences.
  • High level of diligence and attention to detail when working with complex information.
  • Must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand
