Tēnei tūranga - About the Role:
We are looking for an Advisor, Product and Experience to join the Digital Business Enablement team to work with our Principal Advisor, Service Design and Technical Product Owner to design and build forms using FormBuilder.govt.
FormBuilder is a tool that gives government agencies and councils a way to develop online service forms in days, not weeks or months.
To be successful in this role, you must have the ability to design and build user-centric and user-friendly forms in a fast paced delivery environment.
The role will predominantly be focused on digital form building which includes:
- form configuration and user navigation
- form structure and page layout
- applying plain English language (in accordance with the Plain Language Act)
- applying form design best practices in regard to usability and accessibility principles
- ensuring digital forms meet service design quality assurance criteria
- supporting the Delivery team with iterating forms on behalf of clients.
Other responsibilities will include:
- Demonstrating FormBuilder, coaching government users to build their own forms or making recommendations about how to approach the design of a form
- Supporting government users experiencing technical difficulties or who need help with the tool
- Contributing to the creation of resources to support government users e.g. videos or how to guides
- Attending key stakeholder client engagement meetings as required.

- Knowledge of the public sector in Aotearoa
- Experience building and designing digital forms
- HTML and or JavaScript knowledge is required
- An understanding of the fundamentals of service design, as it relates to building high quality, repeatable services that enable the delivery of government digital services
- A strong analytical approach to assessing digital (or paper) services, and then accurately applying the appropriate design principles
- An ability to take direction from, and apply the feedback from Service Designers, incorporating that into future designs
- Proven ability to develop trust and credibility with stakeholders and within their own team
- Experience with working to deadlines and coordinating/managing multiple projects efficiently and to prioritising competing commitments
- Strong work ethic and high level of self-motivation – the right attitude is key here.
- Must have legal right to live and work in NZ
