About the role:

This position plays a vital role in providing advice and operational support for our business stakeholders as they take their digital service offerings to the public. 

Working across a diverse range of stakeholders you will focus on the detail, design and the implementation plans for digital programmes of work. 

The Business Systems Advisor is a technical subject matter expert for a wide group, a conduit for the escalation of issues out to our vendors, troubleshooting and optimisation. You will work with other MBIE teams and our vendors to ensure key websites are systems are well maintained and will provide user support.


The role is expected to hold a depth of organisational knowledge of our wider business environment in the context of the technology change we are bringing about for the Ministry and our Public Audience.

Skills and experience required:

›    Significant experience in a system support or related technical role.
›    Subject matter expertise for technical, content and experience driven issues with business systems, including websites and APIs.
›    Adaptable, curious, and able to rapidly learn new systems and technology. 
›    In-depth understanding of website coding and design for accessibility and user experience.
›    Proven record of process development, improvement, and documentation.
