Tēnei tūranga - About the Role:

 

We are looking for an Insolvency Examiner to join our enthusiastic and committed Central Insolvency Operations (CIO) team in the Insolvency and Trustee Service (ITS), dealing with a variety of insolvency applications.

Your role will focus on reviewing insolvency applications and bringing these to admission, balancing the interests of debtors and creditors through this process.

As an Insolvency Examiner, your primary responsibilities will include:

 

  • Reviewing and analysing all insolvency applications, assessment of financial budgets and seeking further information to ensure the right solution is applied.
  • The classification of court appointed liquidation and bankruptcy estates.
  • Learning about relevant legislation, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Supporting our office functions
  • Inbox management
  • Effective internal and external customer service

Skills and Experience Required
 

  • Strong understanding of insolvency or have similar/relevant experience in banking, debt recovery or budgeting would be a real advantage.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, attention to detail and good prioritising and organisational abilities.
  • A true team player with a can-do attitude and common-sense approach.
  • A keen desire to learn and develop a career in insolvency.
  • Drive to provide outstanding customer service.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using computer software and tools, particularly Microsoft Office suite.
  • Must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
