The Digital Data and Insights (DDI) group leads, connects and strengthens MBIE's core data and insights, digital and technology capabilities. The successful candidate is responsible for leading initiatives and engagement to inform the strategic direction and operations of the branch. Working closely with Senior Leadership, you will have an excellent opportunity to gain trust and leave your own mark on the strategic direction of the DDI group.

Tēnei tūranga - About the role:

 

The Senior Business Advisor role will be responsible for the delivery of DDI LT reporting and its development, including performance metrics and key insights based on input from across the Group. 

Bring your business understanding, relationship management skills, and perspective to work across Digital Data and Insights (DDI) and MBIE to support the objectives of the Planning & Performance Team and the wider Planning, Risk, and Assurance Branch.

  • Demonstrate experience in the development of business planning, and managing and monitoring programmes or work within a complex environment  
  • Have a strong understanding of the processes that underpin the operations of the public sector environment, including policy development, Cabinet and parliamentary processes, and machinery of government.  
  • Have the ability to quickly assimilate new information at a high level, and come to an understanding of unfamiliar and complex issues.  
  • Be experienced in working with and applying legislation to an operational context (e.g. the Official Information Act and Privacy Act). etc  
  • Have a Tertiary qualification in a relevant field or comparable experience working in business advisory and support role.  
  • Possess the ability to quickly establish and build strong working relationships.
